Game of Vampires: Twilight Sun may seem quite complicated at first: Wardens, Lovers, resources, events, the Conclave, and many different ways to strengthen your account. At the same time, the decisions you make during your first days can significantly affect how quickly you progress later on.
In this beginner guide, we will cover not only the basic mechanics but also a practical starting strategy: how to choose your Wardens, which Attributes to develop, which Lovers to focus on, which resources are worth saving, and which mistakes are best avoided.
Main principle: do not try to upgrade everything at once. In Game of Vampires, a few well-developed Wardens and Lovers are usually more useful than a large number of characters with valuable resources spread evenly between them.
1. Do not level up every Warden at the same time
One of the most common beginner mistakes is trying to develop every Warden evenly.
At the beginning, resources may seem plentiful. You unlock a new Warden and immediately want to increase their level, improve their Talents, and use newly obtained items on them.
The problem becomes noticeable later. You acquire more and more Wardens, development becomes increasingly expensive, and truly valuable resources become limited. Instead of having several strong characters, you end up with a large group of average Wardens.
That is why it is better to choose a small group of main Wardens early on and concentrate your most valuable resources on them.
This does not mean that you should never level up the others. Increasing the Attributes of any Warden ultimately contributes to your overall account growth. The point is mainly about how you distribute limited resources such as Books, Talent development items, and other upgrades.
2. Choose four main Wardens
For a strong start, it is convenient to choose four main Wardens — one for each of the four Attributes:
- Strength;
- Allure;
- Intellect;
- Spirit.
Each of these Wardens should primarily be developed in their own direction. This allows you to concentrate Attribute-specific resources on a few characters instead of spreading them across your entire roster.
How to choose a Warden for each Attribute
Look at the Talents of the Wardens available to you. For each Attribute, choose the character who has the highest total number of Talent stars in that particular Attribute.
For example, when choosing your main Strength Warden, compare all Strength Talents of the suitable characters and add up the number of stars. The higher the total number of Strength Talent stars, the more suitable that Warden is for long-term Strength development.
Use the same principle when choosing your main Warden for Allure, Intellect, and Spirit.
Simple selection rule: first decide which Attribute the Warden will specialize in, then choose the available character with the highest total number of Talent stars in that Attribute.
You do not have to keep the same four Wardens forever. As you progress, you will unlock new characters. If a new Warden is clearly better suited to a particular Attribute, you can gradually shift your main development toward them.
3. If you plan to play long-term, think several steps ahead
A fast-start strategy and a long-term account development strategy are not exactly the same.
If your goal is to get strong results quickly at the beginning, you can actively develop the strongest Wardens currently available to you.
If you plan to play for a long time, however, it may be worth saving some especially valuable resources for characters you will obtain later.
When choosing a long-term main Warden, look not only at their current Attributes but also at their Talents, specialization, Inspiration, connections with Lovers, and potential for further development.
Do not treat your starting four Wardens as your permanent final lineup. They are a tool for getting a strong start, not a roster you are required to use forever.
4. Give each main Warden their own Attribute
Once you have chosen your main Wardens, the next important step is distributing development items correctly.
If one Warden is your main Strength Warden, it makes sense to give them a large share of the resources intended specifically for Strength. Apply the same principle to your main Allure, Intellect, and Spirit Wardens.
Talents are especially important here. Wardens have different Talent sets and specializations, so the same amount of resources can produce very different results on different characters.
Do not choose a Warden simply because they currently have the highest level. Look at how well their Talents match the Attribute you intend to develop.
5. Keep Intellect and Spirit balanced
Intellect and Spirit are connected through the game’s resource economy.
Intellect increases the amount of Nectar you receive, while Spirit increases the amount of Bats you receive.
However, collecting Bats consumes Nectar. Because of this, developing Spirit too quickly while neglecting Intellect can create a simple problem: you may potentially be able to collect a large number of Bats, but constantly lack enough Nectar to do so.
Tip: do not develop Spirit separately from Intellect. If your Bat production is already limited by a lack of Nectar, increasing Spirit further will not solve the problem.
6. Strength is especially useful early in the game
Strength is one of the most noticeable Attributes during the early stages of account development.
It is involved in combat mechanics and affects your progress through Exploration. The higher your Strength, the fewer Bats are required to defeat enemies as you progress through Exploration.
For this reason, a strong Warden with good Strength Talents can noticeably speed up your early progress.
However, you should not invest exclusively in Strength. Allure, Intellect, and Spirit support your account’s resource economy, which is necessary for continued development.
7. Do not develop every Lover
The same general principle applies to Lovers: trying to develop every Lover evenly usually leads to your resources being spread too thin.
At the beginning, it is reasonable to choose around 3–4 main Lovers and concentrate gifts and other limited development resources primarily on them.
When choosing them, always consider the Lover’s connection to a Warden. Through Scarlet Bonds, Lovers can provide additional bonuses to the Wardens linked to them.
This makes Lovers connected to your main Wardens particularly interesting to develop, because the same investment begins to benefit several game systems at once.
Lovers also participate in other mechanics, including strengthening teams in the Underworld.
8. Stronger Lovers help you get stronger Children
Developing Lovers provides another long-term benefit: Children.
A Lover’s development affects the potential of the Children they produce. The better developed the Lover is, the stronger the Child can be.
As the Child develops, their Attributes also contribute to the overall growth of your account.
Because of this, the strategy of putting a little into every Lover is not always optimal. Several well-developed Lovers can be more useful than a large number of weak ones.
Practical approach: first choose your main Wardens, then check which Lovers are connected to them. This will help you decide where gifts and Lover development resources are best invested.
9. Be careful with Level 60 and the Arena
A beginner can easily get into the habit of leveling every Warden simply because the upgrade is available. But once the Arena becomes relevant, Warden level has another important effect.
For random Arena attacks, the game selects Wardens that have reached the required level threshold. Because of this, automatically pushing every weak Warden beyond that threshold is not always beneficial.
If you want to take the Arena more seriously, it is better to decide in advance which Wardens you actually want among your attacking characters.
Important: do not automatically raise every new Warden above Level 60. First decide whether you actually want that character included in the roster used by Arena mechanics.
At the same time, keeping every other Warden permanently weak is not a universal strategy either. Later on, developing your full roster has its own benefits. The point here is simply to avoid leveling everyone blindly without understanding the consequences.
10. Do not ignore Conclave Assemblies
The Conclave is easy to underestimate, especially when many other game systems are opening at the same time.
However, attending and hosting Assemblies allows you to earn Assembly Points. These are used to upgrade Seals in the Conclave Skill Trees.
The Conclave Skill Trees are particularly valuable because their upgrades can provide permanent Attribute increases to your Wardens. Over time, regular participation in Assemblies becomes a meaningful source of account growth.
Some Conclave Skill Tree upgrades also increase the effectiveness of corresponding Book types, making this system even more valuable as your account develops.
Tip: try to regularly take an available seat at an Assembly or host your own. Even if you do not plan to stay in the game for long, the Assembly Points you earn will help with permanent development through the Conclave Skill Trees.
11. Do not spend valuable items just because you have them
During the first days of the game, you receive a fairly generous amount of different items and resources. This makes it easy to develop the habit of using everything immediately.
It is better to break that habit as early as possible.
Before using a valuable resource, ask yourself one simple question: will using it right now give me a meaningful advantage?
If the answer is no, the item may be much more valuable later.
This becomes especially noticeable once you become familiar with events. The same saved resource can either be used for account development at any time, or you can wait for the appropriate event and receive both the development and additional event rewards.
Important: owning a resource does not mean you need to spend it immediately. Learning to save resources and choose the right moment to use them is one of the most important habits in Game of Vampires.
12. Complete your daily activities
Fast progress in Game of Vampires does not depend only on major upgrades. Regular completion of small daily activities plays a huge role.
Collecting resources, completing Daily Tasks, claiming free rewards, and participating in different game activities may seem insignificant on their own. But after several weeks, the difference between completing them regularly and only occasionally becomes very noticeable.
Beginners should especially learn which activities reset daily and which resources can be obtained for free. If you repeatedly skip them, you are effectively losing part of the account growth available to you.
At the same time, not everyone has the time or desire to log into the game every day and manually repeat the same routine.
In that case, you can use a third-party Game of Vampires Assistant. Do not confuse it with the game’s built-in Personal Assistant: this is a separate service capable of automatically handling most everyday activities.
Such an assistant can complete daily tasks, collect available rewards and resources, and handle other routine activities even when you are not personally in the game.
This is especially useful for players who want to develop their account consistently, participate in interesting events, and focus on strategy without spending a large part of their free time repeating the same daily actions.
Tip: if the daily routine starts taking too much time, consider automating that part of the game and keeping the more interesting gameplay for yourself.

13. Do not try to win every event
Events are an important part of Game of Vampires: Twilight Sun, but beginners do not need to aim for a high ranking in every single one.
If you constantly spend all your saved items on the current event, your stockpile will disappear quickly. When an event appears that your account is genuinely well prepared for, you may no longer have enough resources to achieve a strong result.
Learn to choose your events and prepare for them in advance.
The same item can give you account growth today, or the same growth plus additional rewards during the right event.
One of the most important Game of Vampires tricks: sometimes the best way to become stronger is to spend nothing today.
14. Keep progressing and unlocking new features
Do not spend too long focusing only on the mechanics you already know. As your account develops, new systems, resource sources, and methods of strengthening your account become available.
Continue progressing through Exploration, complete the main tasks, and gradually learn the new mechanics as they unlock.
You do not need to understand the entire game in one day. It is much easier to learn each system gradually and ask yourself: what exactly does this mechanic improve, and how is it connected to my main Wardens, Lovers, and resources?
15. A simple beginner development plan
If we reduce everything above to a straightforward plan, your early-game strategy can look like this:
- Do not level every Warden indiscriminately.
- Choose four main Wardens — one for Strength, Allure, Intellect, and Spirit.
- Direct Attribute-specific resources to the appropriate Warden instead of distributing them randomly.
- Keep an eye on the balance between Intellect and Spirit so your Bat production does not become limited by a lack of Nectar.
- Choose 3–4 main Lovers, paying particular attention to their connections with your main Wardens.
- Do not push every Warden past the Arena level threshold just because you have enough resources to level them.
- Regularly attend or host Assemblies and develop your Conclave Skill Trees.
- Do not spend valuable items immediately after obtaining them. Consider whether they would be more useful during the right event.
- Do not miss free daily resources and activities.
- Do not try to win every event. Focus on the ones your account is actually prepared for.
Most importantly: Game of Vampires rewards not only activity but also planning. The sooner you stop pressing every available upgrade button and start understanding why you are spending each resource, the faster and more efficiently your account will develop.
